Background

My Roots, My Story. My Journey

Mi name is Francisco Manuel Pajuelo, I was born in Lima, Peru. I grew up in this great city, immersed in a British educational system that helped me master English and fueled my inquisitive, globetrotting spirit.

Since childhood, I have been connected to the countryside and livestock farming. That is where my motivation to study an engineering degree linked to agricultural production comes from. I graduated with a technical degree, but I never gave up my passion for photography, graphic design, and art. I have always been one of those people who chase distant dreams and goals. Someone who enjoys nature, adventures, and projects.

When I was still young, I emigrated and settled in Seville. From that moment on, I felt that my professional goals were closer. I had left my home, my land, to pursue a great life project abroad.

I started my family in Andalusia, and finally settled in Huelva—the birthplace of berries, nestled between the Atlantic coast and close to Seville. It was then that my professional, entrepreneurial, and independent career reached a turning point that pointed toward international trade and marketing.

More than 25 years have passed since my beginnings. I have collaborated with a significant number of agri-export companies, acting as a facilitator connecting local production with the most demanding global markets.

Throughout my career as an International Project Manager, I have led projects, joined multidisciplinary teams, contributed to business development, and brought top-tier products and brands to the most competitive international destinations.

1998

I completed my graduate studies at Universidad Agraria La Molina in Lima, in the Faculty of Zootecnia, a branch of agriculture specializing in animal production. Over time, my interest in agribusiness, agricultural production, and the international trade of agri-food products grew even stronger.

1999

I joined Agroindustrial Paramonga, a sugar company acquired by Corporación Wong. I began a process of learning and training across multiple areas to participate in business process reengineering projects, cost optimization, and quality improvement. At the same time, I served as an interlocutor in periodic audits with the World Bank Group.

2002

After a year and a half at the University of New Hampshire, USA, pursuing postgraduate studies in Resource Economics, I returned to Peru and rejoined Corporación Wong, this time at Conservera Garrido. There, I developed a process reengineering and product, brand, and packaging improvement project tailored for the North American market.

2004

I emigrated to Spain and began an Executive MBA at the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI) in Seville. The business school opened the doors to Extenda and ICEX. Through them, I began working as a Marketing and International Development Consultant, collaborating with small and medium-sized enterprises in Andalusia.

2005

Driven by a personal motivation, I added the factor of creativity to my expertise. I professionalized my knowledge in graphic design, photography, and the development of online communication tools. I combined my foreign trade duties with preparing companies in terms of brand strategy and product presentation.

2007

I founded outSide in Seville, a service company designed to become a strategic instrument for the commercial development of agri-food companies with an export vision. Under a comprehensive model, I combine foreign trade services with marketing and communication.

2008

outSide moves forward, achieving sustained collaboration with a substantial group of Andalusian agri-export companies, primarily located in Seville and Huelva. With each of them, we establish projects that in most cases extend for more than four years. I leave Seville and set up my operational base in Huelva.

2009

I entered the red berry sector through Surexport. outSide established broad and intense collaborative ties with the company that years later would become the leading berry sector enterprise in Spain. My professional relationship with Surexport extended for more than four years. Working closely with the General Management, I contributed to brand development and laid the foundations for productive and commercial growth in Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.

2010

outSide continues to move forward. During this period, international marketing gained even greater relevance. New agri-export companies joined the portfolio. I incorporated more audiovisual production resources and recruited young professionals whom I trained and managed. Our support in trade missions and sector fairs became even more intense: Fruit Logistica Berlin, Fruit Logistica Hong Kong, Fruit Attraction Madrid, SIAL Paris, Anuga Cologne, Alimentaria Barcelona, WorldFood Moscow, among others.

2012

outSide embarks on a new chapter focused on red berry exports. I formed a new company called freshSide, whose mission is to serve as the sales and export office (via outsourcing) for a group of more than twenty farmers in Huelva. We manage weekly programs throughout the entire campaign to coordinate and serve importers and service providers in major European cities.

2015

freshSide consolidates its export activity, acting as a catalyst for the productive and commercial growth of agricultural companies in Huelva. It not only opens and manages new commercial accounts, but simultaneously enhances brand image and the presence of Andalusian agri-exports across diverse markets.

2018

freshSide's activity diversifies within foreign trade operations. By collaborating with FruitMasters, a benchmark company in the Dutch fruit and vegetable sector, we established a purchasing office based in Huelva to carry out sourcing operations and build a major portfolio of berry suppliers.

2022

outSide returns as the core of my independent professional work. I am undertaking new projects in the fields of agri-export process reorganization and international commercial development. I collaborate with benchmark companies in the red berry sector, opening and managing key accounts with UK and European service providers and retailers.

2025

I am collaborating once again with Surexport, the company to which I owe my beginnings and my foundation in the fascinating and ever-dynamic world of berries. This time, I am deeply focused on global brand strategy, providing support to the corporation's various productive and commercial fronts across Spain, Morocco, Portugal, the Netherlands, the USA, Mexico, China, and Peru.

2026

Projects continue moving forward, with the same strength and motivation. Through outSide, I continue to contribute everything I have learned, along with the experience and network built over a journey that began in Lima more than two decades ago.

Today, the berry sector—hailed as superfoods—is booming, and looking to the future, we must work to gain competitiveness, differentiate ourselves, and secure market share based on quality, service, and brand image. That is my mission.
